Cascades of Doubt - Robocop

It is the not-too-distant future in crime-ridden Detroit. A corporate conglomerate has taken over the responsibility of running the city and, under the direction of Richard Jones, has developed a huge metal android to combat rampant street crime. When this creation demonstrates a murderous defect, Robert Morton, a minor member of the company, sees an opportunity to adovance his position by building a better cop machine. He gets the chance when cop Alex Murphy is brutally killed by a gang of sadistic hoodlums. Murphy's body is reconstructed by technicians and dubbed RoboCop. It proves to be more than effective against street criminals thereby elevating Morton to top corporate management. This motivates the scheming Jones to make a pact with supervillain Clarence Boddicker to destroy RoboCop. In a final bloody shootout Boddicker and his plug-uglies are sent to perdition. After having destoyed also Jones' own gigantic killing machine, RoboCop tries to arrest Jones but is hindered by one of his built-in routines that says never to molest any corporate member of the firm. Not before The Old Man the formal head of the company, has fired Jones, RoboCop can finish his mission.
